Ice is a registered QH mare. She has a bit of a story. She was part of a herd dispersal and ended up with a kill buyer. They brought a bunch of the mares and sold them at Carolina Horse Company’s auction last summer. She was purchased, they put some training on her and sold her again at auction the next month. The next time we know of her was when we got the call to pick her up or she would be euthanized. The lady told me that she had been given to them by a vet who kept her in a dog run. She was probably the skinniest horse we have ever taken in and I was not sure she was going to make it. That was on June 26th. Two months later and she is fit and fat and ready to go.
She rides well, is very sensitive and is trying to figure out what her rider wants. She did not do anything wrong but it does make her edgy right now (first ride at cvhr and probably in the last year). She needs an intermediate rider to give her confidence.
